It's a block of Jurassic limestone wich forms a hill culminating the city with a shrine built in the 11th and 12th centuries.
The chapel was built by the Augustinians. The building is restored after the wars of religion.
It was long dedicated to our Lady of the Mines in relation to the activity of the region.
A belvedere with orientation tables set up by the municipality in 1991, to situate outstanding points of the alesienne settlement, the Cevennes and low Vivarais.
